Fenggui Elementary School in Penghu County & Peace Valley Charter School in Idaho Sign a Memorandum of Understanding

Carol Lin, Principal of Fenggui Elementary School, and Andrew Ross, Principal at Peace Valley Charter School in Idaho, signed a Memorandum of Understanding on December 8. The two schools want to cooperate to provide their students with further opportunities for cultural growth. This will help to cultivate diversity, inclusion, and the interplay between the scholarly, cultural, and everyday life aspects of life in Asia, in the USA and in the world.

It’s hoped that through connected experiences, the students and teachers in these two schools will be able to bridge the culture gaps, and establish long-term friendships and lasting partnerships.

Su Qi-Chang, Director of the Penghu County Government Education Bureau, Daniel Chen, the Director General at the Taipei Economic & Cultural Office in Seattle, Tom Kealey, Director at the Idaho Department of Commerce, and Eddie Yen, Director and Official Representative, Idaho-Asia Trade Office all participated in the ceremony, in person or online.

Director Su said that Fenggui Elementary School is the first school in Penghu County to sign an MOU to build cooperative relations and that this will stimulate the development of bilingualzation there. Daniel Chen pointed out that Taiwan and Idaho have close economic cooperation and it’s exciting to expand their interaction to educational cooperation.
