The Education Division at the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Ho Chi Minh worked with Vietnam’s Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs to organize the Industry Cooperation: Regulations and Application Seminar held on December 4, 2020. The goals were to encourage and build a platform for Taiwanese businesspeople to engage in industry-university cooperation with universities and colleges in Vietnam; and to promote Taiwan’s vocational education and encourage cooperation and collaboration between universities and colleges in Vietnam and counterpart institutions in Taiwan.

The Education Division invited major Taiwanese companies and Taiwanese business associations to send representatives to take part. Over 80 people attended the seminar including representatives of major Taiwanese companies, such as VEDAN, Po Chen, DDK, VIPIC, and Want Want, and representatives of more than 25 Vietnamese educational institutions.

The Director General of the Vocational Education Department of the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs was invited to talk about that Ministry’s regulations on industrial cooperation. This was very valuable for the Taiwanese businesses considering engaging in industrial cooperation with universities and colleges in Vietnam.

Ms. Tina Ou, Education Attaché at the Education Division of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Ho Chi Minh gave a 50-minute presentation on university- industry cooperation and related policies in Taiwan.

The very productive seminar was followed by a dinner banquet, giving people from the Vietnamese educational institutions and Taiwanese businesses an opportunity to talk and discuss possible cooperation.
