Raise Your Vitality With Reading‧Make Life Full of Happiness 2021 Taiwan Reading Festival Kicks off Nationwide

The National Central Library (NCL), under the guidance of the Ministry of Education, began holding national, large-scale reading promotion events called the Taiwan Reading Festival from 2013. The National Library of Public Information, the National Taiwan Library, and the public libraries, schools, publishing companies, educational organizations, and book clubs in 22 counties and cities have also participated in this festival and it has become an annual event every year. In addition, the Taiwan Reading Festival project has been chosen as the winner of a 2020 Presidential Citation for Innovative International Library Projects by the American Library Association. Its innovation and sustainability can serve as the role model for international libraries.

The National Library of Public Information is hosting an event called “Reading, Food and Cuisine “on Saturday December 4. The event will tickle your taste buds of reading with food and cuisine, and bring the delicacy of literature together. The National Taiwan Library is hosting an event called “Grocery Store for Reading “from Saturday December 4 to Sunday December 5. You can get better understanding about the Republic of China’s (R.O.C. Taiwan) traditional culture through the series of master lectures and theater performances.

On Saturday December 4, the 2021 Taiwan Reading Festival’s Reading Carnival will be held at National Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall by the NCL, bringing together 25 carefully planned and innovative reading events. The carnival has 150 participating organizations, with over 250 different reading activities. Furthermore, 18 counties will hold 65 Little Reading Pioneers events around the nation in the hopes of creating happy reading times together with the public. All are invited to come and enjoy the wonder of reading and experience the R.O.C. Taiwan’s passion for reading!
