2022 German Huayu Enrichment Scholarship & Taiwan Scholarship Recipients Selected
The final meeting of the selection committee to award Ministry of Education Huayu Enrichment Scholarships and Ministry of Education Taiwan Scholarships to successful German applicants took place on December 7, 2021. Committee members from the Division of Education of the Taiwanese Representative Office in Germany and from the German Academic Exchange Service had to participate in a video conference because of the still ongoing COVID19 pandemic.
Fourteen of the 40 eligible candidates were selected to be offered a Huayu Enrichment Scholarship to study at a Chinese language center at a university in Taiwan for either six months or a year, in accordance with their respective applications.
Eleven eligible candidate applied for a Taiwan Scholarship to undertake a degree program at a university in Taiwan and three people were selected. They will begin studying a diverse range of fields later this year:
- a 4-year bachelor’s degree program in Korean Studies at National Chengchi University;
- a 2-year master’s degree program in Cultural and Creative Industries at National Taipei University of the Arts; and
- a 2-year master’s degree program in Critical and Curatorial Studies of Contemporary Art at National Taipei University of Education.
Eligible students can also apply for a Ministry of Education Taiwan Scholarship to undertake a doctorate program.
