Taiwan Alumni Share Start-up Business Experiences in Thailand at Thailand Industry 4.0 Professional Forum
The Education Division of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Thailand organized a Thailand Industry 4.0 forum for alumni of universities in Taiwan to share their experiences of starting up a business in Thailand. It was held on June 19, 2022 at the Evergreen hotel in Bangkok and attended by 63 alumni from 21 universities and the Association of Taiwan Alumni (Thailand).
Mr. Hsu Wei-Ming, Deputy Representative of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Thailand. and Mr. Ouyang Yen-heng, Director of the Education Division, each gave a warm welcome. Two speakers who had graduated in Taiwan gave special presentations: Dr. Chanon Lipijit, spoke on the topic Innovation in Horticulture to Fight Climate Change, and Mr. Chaiwat Piankarn spoke on the topic B2B—Bean to Bar— Chocolate) Chocolate: From Book to Business. Four alumni who have been successfully set up businesses—Tonico Co., Ltd, Thaiwis Creation Co., Ltd, Transform Information Co., Ltd, and Surfbean Café and Roastery—then each talked about the products and services their respective businesses provide, and how each came to be established.
The alumni were very impressed by the forum and the opportunity to talk with many other alumni about their different experiences setting up a business in Thailand, and contribute to their country achieving its Thailand Industry 4.0 goals. They also enjoyed the Taiwanese cuisine provided by the Evergreen hotel. The Education Division hopes to organize similar opportunities for alumni to get together in the near future
