2022 ASPN x HYPE GVA Taiwan Demo Day comes to a successful close

In 2022, HYPE Global Virtual Accelerator Taiwan (HYPE GVA Taiwan), executed by the sports Administration Ministry of Education and entrusted to the National Yang-Ming Chiao Tung University, collaborated with APEC Sport Policy Network. On July 20, 2022,”2022 ASPN x HYPE GVA Taiwan Demo Day” was held in Taipei 101. On the morning of the campaign, ASPN members shared their experiences of the New Era of Sports Future: Channel to Reach the Sports Population. Then the HYPE GVA Taiwan 8th cycle Demo Day started in the afternoon. Besides the outstanding Demo, there were more than 15 teams of magnificent sports innovation startups from HYPE GVA Taiwan alumni to show their success, made a sports-tech exhibition.

  ASPN, the APEC Sports Policy Network , was established in 2016. This event invited ASPN economies, which include Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Japan, and the USA. Also, five international innovation teams, associate professor Laurel Walzak of Toronto Metropolitan University and director Sansanee Huabsomboon of National Science and Technology Development Agency. All the above members were gathering to share and exchange experiences of increasing the engagement with people who love to exercise in the morning. 

HYPE GVA Taiwan 8th cycle Demo Day started in the afternoon. 10 international sports startups from Israel, the USA, the United Kingdom, Canada, Singapore, and Taiwan attended the pitch competition of business presentations. The startups from this cycle comprised different products. From creating a platform of intelligent monitoring fitness equipment and physical and mental training to the AI machine analyzing the field. Moreover, there was a new way of Triathlon competition through AR/VR. 

In the meantime, HYPE GVA Taiwan invited the European Advisor from Stack Sports, Mr. Andrew Hicks, to share the topic of “A Pragmatic Overview of Sports and Innovation. “    
After the selection by thirty professional mentors from the sports industry, business executives, and the media, the winners of the HYPE Award were RunMe and IoGym, Sports Administration was AQUIVIO, and Ness Wellness; last but not least, the IAPS award winner was E-Nano、Box2Box, and IMOTEK, The prize included free membership on the IAPS JOIN Platform, a shared space in the Taiwan Tech Arena, HYPE newsletter, a free one-on-one investment session in the GVA 3.0, and a free booth at the international exhibition. 
    
Since 2018, HYPE GVA Taiwan has incubated over 75 sports innovation teams. And created more than 16.7M USD worth of investment and business values for startups. We welcome anyone interested in sports innovation to join us in HYPE GVA Taiwan.
