A ceremony for the signing of an MOU to establish the first Taiwan Education Center in the Indian State of Rajasthan, at the Neeraj Modi School in Jaipur, was held on September 17, 2022. The ceremony was attended by Ms. Indu Duber, the principal of Neeraj Modi School, and teachers at the school. This will be the 25th Taiwan Education Center in India.

The MOU was signed by Peters Li Ying Chen, Director of the Education Division of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Center in India, and by Saurabh Modi, Chairman of the Neeraj Modi Group of Schools.

Peters Chen said, “The signing of this MOU will give students participating in the exchange programs that the Taiwan Education Center will offer opportunities to be exposed to a richer cultural experience, ethnic groups, religions, and knowledge. Moreover, this is the first time we have signed an MOU with an educational institution in Rajasthan state, and we hope that more international education collaboration will be established with schools in Rajasthan.”

The school has long-term experience offering the International Baccalaureate (IB) and the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) of the University of Cambridge. A Mandarin teacher who has expertise in curriculum design and evaluation of the teaching of Mandarin as a foreign language courses to students will come to the campus at the beginning of 2023.

Sohrabh Modi said, “The French Embassy has cooperated with this school for a long time. There will also be a French center building next to the school campus. In the future, French and Mandarin will be the two most important foreign language courses of this school.”

Sohrabh Modi expressed his hope that professors from universities in Taiwan will guide Indian students to do research in fields such as artificial intelligence and technology, and that there will be opportunities to organize for a group of students to go to Taiwan for immersive learning.
