Rewarding Sports Science Research and Development and Nurturing of Talent Results Exchange Meeting held by the Sports Administration to exchange new knowledge on March 3

To encourage researchers in the area of sports science to enhance the support models for various sports, the Sports Administration promotes reward for sports science research; according to the “Guidelines for Rewarding Sports Science Research and Development and Nurturing of Talent”, 21 research works with practical contribution and influence were selected for 2022 and were publicly commended at the “2022 Guoguang Athletic Medal and Sports Science Research Reward Award Ceremony”. To reach more practitioners with an interest in sports science, the “2023 Rewarding Sports Science Research and Development and Nurturing of Talent Results Exchange Meeting” was held on March 3 at National Taiwan Normal University, inviting reward recipients to share the results of their research and provide the latest new knowledge and related information to increase sports science research momentum.
For this results exchange meeting, Yushan scholar Prof. Huang Yun-Ju of National Taiwan University College of Medicine was invited to present a keynote speech on how to carry out scientific research from the viewpoint of female physiology to increase the attention given to female athletes by the public; and, through cross-area knowledge exchange, promote more research with female athletes as the subjects and theme to increase the breadth and depth of sports science resrach. The activity also introduced the guidelines for the call for submission for sports science research reward for the reference of research teams with an interest in future participation.
Other than keynote speech, this activity also invited recipients of reward in 2022, namely leading scholars Prof. Kuo Kui-pin of National Pingtung University of Science and Technology, and Prof. Chi Li-kang of National Taiwan Normal University. Prof. Kuo Kui-pin developed a badminton visual reaction action training system to help with badminton training and for controlling player training to raise the level of player badminton step ability and measuring function. Prof. Chi Li-kang studied professional golfers, discussing the relationship between satisfaction of basic psychological requirements and positive thinking and sports burnout to increase the subjective vitality of professional golfers and reduce the occurrence of sports burnout. Onsite, 21 popular science posters of the reward recipients were displayed, displaying study results in an easy to understandable way. 
The Sports Administration stated that the “National Sports Science Center Establishment Act” was promulgated by the President on February 8, 2023. In the future, according to its mission of “ promoting sports science research”, the Center will continue to bring together sports science research talent from Taiwan and overseas to formulate support methods for raising the level of competitive sports power in Taiwan. The Sports Administration will continue to reward sports science researchers; the time period for sports science R&D reward applications in 2023 is April 15-30, 2023. The aim of this exchange meeting was to raise the profile of the Guidelines for Rewarding Sports Science Research and Development and Nurturing of Talent and increase cross-area, cross-team academic exchange to raise the level of sports science research quality and optimize nurturing of sports science related research talent.
