On the occasion of the 20th Anniversary of the Family Education Act, the Ministry of Education (MOE) held a press conference on May 11th afternoon for the International Day of Families at the International Conference Center of National Taiwan University Hospital, inviting partners from National Taiwan Normal University, National Open University, National Chi Nan University and other university family education research centers as well as county and city governments’ family education centers to attend. It was the first time to release the video of the 20th Anniversary of the Family Education Act to highlight how family educators have made tremendous efforts and achievements in the past 20 years.

The Chief Secretary of MOE, Xing-Guo Liao, pointed out that our country pioneered the Family Education Act in the world by enacting the Family Education Act in 2003, aiming to enhance our citizens’ family relationships and family functions. In the future, we will continue to integrate different units and channels, such as central ministries, county and city governments, academia, enterprises, and community organizations to provide more appropriate educational resources for each family, so as to strengthen the function of the family and achieve the goal of social harmony.
