The 19th Asian Games Hangzhou 2022 (Asian Games) will begin on September 23 in Hangzhou, China. Together with ELTA Technology Co., Ltd., Chunghwa Telecom, Videoland Television Network, Eastern Broadcasting Co., Ltd., and Public Television Service, the Sports Administration has arranged diverse live broadcast on TV and online to allow viewers in Taiwan to keep up with the outstanding performances of Taiwan’s athletes as they compete in games.
At the 18th Asian Games Jakarta 2018 (Jakarta Asian Games), the Taiwan team won a total of 67 medals, 17 gold, 19 silver and 31 bronze. The Hangzhou Asian Games will be the 13th time that a delegation from Taiwan has participated in the Asian Games. As of the close of 2018 Jakarta Asian Games, the Taiwan team has won a total of 99 golds, 144 silvers and 276 bronzes. The first gold medal at this Asian Games will be the historic “Taiwan’s 100th Asian Games Gold". The five major broadcast media invite people to witness Taiwan’s heroes win more gold medals in Hangzhou on various channels.
The Sports Administration stated that our country’s athletes continue to stand tall on the world stage, performing well against formidable international opponents to let the world see Taiwan. To protect the domestic people’s rights to watch the games, broadcast of the 16-day Asian Games will span four major platforms (IPTV platform: ELTA Sports channels 1-3 of Chunghwa Telecom’s MOD, ELTA Asian Games 1-3, online OTT platform: Hami Video Sports and ELTA.tv, terrestrial TV: PTS main channel and channel 3, cable TV: EBC, EBC Super TV, Videoland Sports, Videoland Max TV and Videoland ONTV) to meet the demand of the people of Taiwan for watching international sports events.
