TFETP 2024 Poster

To consolidate the Bilingual 2030 Policy, the Ministry of Education (MOE) continues to recruit talented English teaching professionals from overseas. The new blood will collaborate pedagogically with local elementary and junior high school teachers to build up an English-speaking environment on campus, enhancing students’ learning motivation and English competence and improving pedagogical knowledge in English teaching for domestic teachers. The MOE will recruit 1,096 foreign English teachers and teaching assistants in 2024. Non-Taiwan nationals whose official or common language is English and who are passionate about English teaching are welcome to apply online from now on at https://tfetp.epa.ntnu.edu.tw/.
The MOE will subsidize the following for the admitted overseas English teaching professionals: monthly salary, economy class airfare, health and labor insurance, housing reimbursement, and end-of-year bonus based on the annual performance review. Subsidy of economy class airfare will also be offered to one accompanying spouse or immediate family member. In a similar vein, the MOE will provide the transportation allowance and reimbursement for taking certificate classes, such as TESOL, TEFL, or CELTA, for English teaching assistants of non-Taiwan nationals. Furthermore, the MOE has built a career development network for well-performed senior English teachers from overseas to stay or transition to a counseling role, assisting capable local teachers or junior foreign English teachers.
As part of the plan, the MOE will continue to strengthen tripartite collaboration with the central and local governments and neighboring universities to ensure an on-par teaching performance aiming at cultivating the English communicative competence of the younger generation and strengthening national competitiveness on the global stage.
