Education Division, TECO in Vietnam Attends MOU Signing by Lunghwa University of Science and Technology and Dai Nam University and Promotes Taiwan’s Scholarship Programs

Lunghwa University of Science and Technology and Dai Nam University representatives each hold the signed MOU

On January 17, 2024, a delegation comprising Mr. Chu To-Ming, Director of the Education Division of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Vietnam; Huang Chung-Lin, Dean of the Office of International and Cross-Strait Cooperation at Lunghwa University of Science and Technology; and Dr. Liao Hsin-Te, Vice-President of Minghsin University of Science and Technology visited Dai Nam University, in Hanoi. They were received by Dr. Pham Van Hong, the Rector of Dai Nam University; Dr. Ngyen Thi Hoai Tam, Dean of the Faculty of International Studies; and Dr. Le Dac Son, Chairman of the Management Board.
During their visit, Lunghwa University of Science and Technology and Dai Nam University signed an MOU for Lunghwa University of Science and Technology to set up an Overseas Consulting Office on the Dai Nam University campus to promote  International Industrial Talents Education Special Program (the INTENSE Program). before the signing Dr. Le Dac Son told the visiting delegation that Dai Nam University has been approved by the Ministry of Education and Training, Vietnam as a major university for training skilled workers in the semiconductor field. Having an Overseas Consulting Office located on the campus will assist the university to establish preparatory Mandarin courses and assist its Vietnamese students to apply for International Industrial Talents Education Special Program (the INTENSE Program) scholarships and then study in Taiwan more effectively.
In response, Education Division Director Chu To-Ming said that Taiwan’s Ministry of Education has invested a lot of money and resources to encourage Vietnamese students to go to Taiwan and study with INTENSE Program scholarships, and for Taiwan's universities to set up courses in the semiconductor field, courses which meet the needs of Vietnam government's current national construction and development priorities. Therefore, Taiwan's universities can assist the Vietnam government train skilled semiconductor professionals. In addition, he gave details of the Ministry of Education’s Taiwan Scholarships and Huayu Enrichment Scholarships, and he encouraged teachers and students at Dai Nam University to apply for them. 
Each of the parties believes that this partnership between the two universities to set up an Overseas Consulting Office on the Dai Nam University campus will enhance further collaboration and exchanges between Taiwan and Vietnam.
