The 2024 Paris Olympics concluded successfully, with Taiwan's athletes earning 2 gold medals and 5 bronze medals, thrilling and deeply moving the nation. As the athletes immediately transition to the next phase of training for upcoming competitions, the National Sports Training Center (NSTC) continues to be a crucial hub for elite athlete preparation. Creating an exceptional training environment is essential for supporting their pursuit of international success. The third phase of the "Project of setting National Sports Park and the Training Personnel" includes the construction of a new swimming hall and tennis courts at the military school. These projects, overseen by the National Land Management Agency, will soon be announced for online tender, with completion expected by 2027 after two years of pre-construction work, planning, and design.

To enhance the training environment and provide comprehensive logistical support for athletes, the Executive Yuan approved the " Project of setting National Sports Park and the Training Personnel" in 2009, aimed at improving the NSTC facilities in phases. Since 2020, the Sports Administration (SA) has been implementing the third phase of this project. So far, the renovation of the main entrance and the archery range improvement project have been completed. By the end of 2024, additional improvements, including upgrades to the baseball and softball field facilities, the construction of an all-weather throwing field and the center’s all-round running track, and the enhancement of public facilities and landscaping, will be completed, giving the NSTC a refreshed appearance.

Additionally, due to the NSTC's existing land constraints that prevent accommodating all types of training venues, the SA has coordinated with the Ministry of National Defense to allocate land at a military school east of the NSTC, expanding the training base for national athletes. The proposed swimming hall will feature a gradually rising building design, with horizontal decorative panels and a robust metal texture on the exterior, reflecting the Olympic motto “Faster, Higher, Stronger, Together.” The facility will include a 50-meter international standard pool, a 25-meter practice pool, a diving pool, dryland training room, fitness room, a SPA pool area, circulating water training pool, and hypoxic training equipment. These facilities will cater to the training and sports science needs of swimmers and divers, while also providing physical training and relaxation spaces for athletes in other sports.

5 outdoor courts and 4 all-weather courts will be built, which will be hard courts and grass courts respectively. The all-weather courts will have high ceilings to match the ball hitting height; the outdoor courts will take into account the line of movement of players hitting the ball. The courts have no lamp posts, and the distance between the baselines and the sidelines are increased. With the precondition of both practicality and safety of training, players can adapt to different venue materials, and the training will not be affected by the weather.

The SA emphasized that in recent years, Taiwan's athletes have excelled in international competitions, achieving remarkable results. To allow athletes to focus entirely on their preparation, the SA has collaborated with the National Sports Training Center and the Taiwan Institute of Sports Science to offer robust support. Upon completion of the third phase of the project, the training facilities will be of higher quality, safer, and more internationally competitive, enabling athletes to push their limits on the global stage, and let the world see Taiwan. The SA also encourages operators to participate in the bidding for the construction of the new swimming hall and tennis courts, joining "Team Taiwan" to provide unwavering support for our athletes and create an outstanding training environment together.
