Taiwanese Students Win Five Prizes in 2024 Microsoft Office Specialist/Adobe Certified Professional World Championship
The 2024 Microsoft Office Specialist World Championship was held at Disney in Los Angeles from July 28 to July 31. This is a global competition that tests students’ skills using Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe software. Top students are invited to compete for the title of World Champion in their category, and more than 760 thousand students from 122 countries take part in this competition each year.
The regional test was held in Taiwan by Gotop Information Inc. in June, 2024, and nine winners who are students from National Taichung University of Science and Technology, National Taipei University of Business, Chihlee University of Technology, and National Taitung Junior College were selected to continue and represent Taiwan in the World Championship. They were accompanied by their instructor, Associate Professor Chen, Fang-Ping陳芳萍, from Chihlee University of Technology, and the Taiwanese competitors won a total of five prizes:
- Wang, Yu-Chi王郁琦, a student in the Department of Information Management at National Taichung University of Science and Technology, won third place in the Microsoft Word (Office 2019) category
- Chou, En-Yu周恩宇, a student in the Department of Information Management at National Taipei University of Business won second place in the Microsoft Excel (Office 2019) category
- Huang, Jouh-Suan黃柔瑄, a student in the Department of Marketing and Logistics Management at Chihlee University of Technology won third place in the Microsoft PowerPoint (Office 2019) category
- Lan, Jhih-Yuan藍稚元, a student in the Department of Creative Technologies and Product Design at National Taipei University of Business won eighth place in the Microsoft Excel (Microsoft 365 Apps) category
- Chen, Bing-Hong 陳秉鴻, a student in the Department of Information Management at National Taipei University of Business won eighth place in the Microsoft PowerPoint (Microsoft 365 Apps) category
And all nine university students showcased Taiwan’s information technology education to the world throughout the competition.
