Taiwan’s Mandarin Education & Culture Promoted at the International Picnic at the Warsaw School of Economics

On October 15, 2024, the Education Division of the Taipei Representative Office in Poland once again participated in the annual International Picnic at the SGH Warsaw School of Economics. The Foreign Affairs Student Society organizes this event to foster cross-cultural exchanges and promote international educational opportunities for the university’s student body.

Taiwan, Croatia, Malta, South Korea, and Sri Lanka were invited to participate this year and each set up an area which showcased its unique culture, offered a taste of its cuisine, and details of the academic opportunities available to Polish students and researchers The different displays created a lively, interactive atmosphere that encouraged meaningful discussions as the visitors explored them.

Suzen Tseng, Director of the Education Division, and her team presented the multicultural aspects of Taiwan at the area for Taiwan. Their participation was part of a broader initiative to strengthen educational and cultural ties between Poland and Taiwan, and promote Taiwan as a top destination for Mandarin learning, higher education, and academic exchanges.

Visitors enjoyed the flavors of popular Taiwanese snacks and bubble tea, loved by the Taiwanese people. Along with trying out these culinary treats, they could learn more about Taiwan’s rich culture and the educational opportunities available to international students and researcher. Promotional materials detailed Taiwan’s high-quality Mandarin education, attractive scholarship programs, and extensive research opportunities.

The Education Division’s efforts were well-rewarded. The Taiwan display area garnered significant interest, attracting hundreds of young people eager to sample Taiwanese flavors and find out more about study opportunities in Taiwan.
