Information Session at the University of Minnesota on Taiwan Scholarships & Huayu Enrichment Scholarships
An information session on Ministry of Education scholarships to study in Taiwan was held at the University of Minnesota on October 14, 2024. More than 60 students from the University of Minnesota and from nearby colleges and senior secondary schools attended.
Personnel from the Education Division of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Chicago gave the students details about the Taiwan Scholarships and the Huayu Enrichment Scholarships. Taiwan Scholarships provide support for international students to study degree programs in Taiwan and the Huayu Enrichment Scholarships provide support for them to study Mandarin there. They also highlighted Taiwan's safety, the warmth and friendliness of Taiwanese people, and the high-quality education Taiwan offers. Several teachers from Taiwan then spoke about their experiences and shared their feelings about Taiwan, and they encouraged the students to consider studying there.
The students reacted very positively and asked many questions, and the Education Division hopes that the information session will lead to more scholarship applications and promote exchanges and communication between students in Taiwan and the US.
