The Sports Administration announces the recipients for “Donations from profit-seeking enterprises to professional or amateur sports industries and key sports events account” All sectors are encouraged to participate
To enhance the development of the sports industry, focusing on professional sports development, and to promote the professionalization of relevant amateur sports and the development of key sports events, profit-seeking enterprises can donate to the organizing bodies of professional or amateur sports and key sports events through an account set up by the Ministry of Education. Donors can enjoy a tax benefit, where the donated amount is considered 150% of the donation as an expense for the current year. In 2024, nearly 200 donations were made, totaling over NT$1.15 billion, benefiting 33 recipients in sports such as baseball, basketball, soccer, archery, softball, rugby, eSports, golf, bodybuilding, volleyball, and more. This is the 4th year of the program, and the Sports Administration (SA) has announced the list of recipients for 2025. Donations will be accepted from now until November 30, 2025.
The list of recipients for 2025 donations to the professional or amateur sports industries and key sports events account has been officially announced, with 32 approved cases. The total approved donation amount exceeds NT$2.6 billion. From now until November 30, 2025, profit-seeking enterprises can visit the SA's official website to fill out the Donation Application Form for “Donation by Profit-seeking Enterprises to Professional or Amateur Sports and Key Sports Events Account" and refer to the announced donation amount limits for each recipient. After the application is processed, the SA will respond with the results, facilitating donation by enterprises.
After receiving the donation approval notice, the profit-seeking enterprise can, before December 10 of this year, submit the approval document and donate the agreed amount by cash, promissory note, or bank transfer to the SA's profit-seeking enterprise donation account (303) through the Treasury’s designated bank. Once the donation is received, a receipt will be issued to the donating enterprise. This will allow the enterprise to claim a tax benefit of 150% of the donation amount as an expense when filing their corporate income tax the following year (2026).
The SA has announced the complete list of approved recipients and donation amounts for the 2025 donations to the professional or amateur sports industries and key sports events account on its official website (https://www.sa.gov.tw/PageContent?n=5999). All sectors are encouraged to actively respond. Corporate donations to sports can enjoy tax benefits, creating a win-win situation for the government, businesses, and recipients. The aim is to expand sports resources and contribute to the healthy development of the sports industry.
