The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Mainland Affairs Council were invited to promote key matters for attention when conducting international and cross-strait exchanges.

The Sports Administration (SA) hosted the "2025 International and Cross-Strait Sports Exchange Seminar – Session 1" on March 7 to enhance the professional competencies of international sports event organizers and improve event quality. Around 70 representatives from local governments and sports organizations participated. To strengthen Taiwan’s international sports event branding and global visibility, the SA continues to implement the "Sport Event Taiwan (SET) Enhancement Program." This initiative includes regular administrative seminars and international forums, supporting local governments and sports organizations in improving administrative efficiency, expanding international perspectives, and aligning with global standards.

The theme of the year, "City Branding x Sports Technology," encourages sports event organizers to integrate local cultural imagery and promote city tourism. In this seminar, the SA covered international sports exchange administration, key considerations, and urged continued participation in this year's workshop series. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Mainland Affairs Council shared updates and case studies on international and cross-strait sports exchanges. Additionally, Karen Chou (Chou Gui-fen), an accountant from Answer CPAS Firm, explained key points on international sports event funding execution. To highlight sports and technology integration, Professor Huang Yu from National Tsing Hua University presented insights on event marketing and sports technology applications.

The SA emphasized that the Ministry of Sport will be formally established in August this year. Shaping Taiwan’s international event branding is a key priority for President Lai and a recommendation from the Executive Yuan’s advisory committee. To strengthen the capabilities of domestic event organizers, two administrative seminars will be held annually to enhance education and training for personnel. The goal is to foster closer collaboration between events and cities, integrate sports technology, and create Taiwan-branded sports events. This initiative aims to elevate Taiwan’s international sports events, boost city tourism, and drive economic growth.

Future international forums and events organized by the SA will gather city representatives and renowned event organizers from South Korea, Thailand, Japan, Portugal, Australia, and Singapore to share diverse perspectives and exchange knowledge. The Sport Event Taiwan Workshop Launch Forum is set for March 27.
