The 2026 Star Education Fair, organized by Star Media Group, held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre from April 11 to 12, brought together 65 exhibitors across 102 booths, offering a wide spectrum of local and international education pathways. The Fair provided exhibitions from local and international universities and colleges; career talks and education seminars; scholarship and financial aid information; on the spot applications and counseling sessions; and details of international study opportunities.

As well as Malaysia, the exhibitors represented countries and regions, including, Taiwan, Australia, New Zealand, Russia, Germany, Hungary, the Ivory Coast, the United Kingdom and Hong Kong, reflecting the fair’s important role as students look beyond Malaysia to find study destinations.

The exhibitors included the Education Division of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Malaysia which took this valuable opportunity to engage directly with many Malaysian students and parents and enhance people’s awareness of Taiwan as a competitive and accessible study destination. Closer Taiwan–Malaysia educational ties are supporting long-term academic and professional exchanges in the region, and Taiwan has growing appeal to Malaysian students.

Education Division staff at the Fair answered questions about admission procedures and other aspects of studying and living in Taiwan in one-on-one consultations with prospective applicants. People had strong interest in scholarships, Mandarin programs, and internship opportunities and were provided with information about a range of scholarships available for different academic programs: the Taiwan Scholarships to undertake degree programs at any level, Huayu Enrichment Scholarships to undertake Mandarin language studies for up to a year, and the TEEP program which includes scholarship support.

In addition, the Education Division staff gave details of Taiwan’s 18 Academic Clusters, helping students better understand available disciplines and align their academic choices with future career pathways, and gave students currently studying in Malaysia, guidance on applying for internship opportunities in Taiwan—a study path that enhances employability.
