The Asus Foundation and the Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan) in the Republic of Paraguay donated 21 notebook computers to the National University of Asuncion to establish an e-learning digital classroom.

The inauguration of the e-learning digital classroom took place on Wednesday, October 17, at the UNA Asuncion Campus. The ceremony was hosted by the rector, Dr Pedro Gerardo González, together with Asus Foundation representative, Mr Thomas Chao, and the Ambassador of the Republic of China (Taiwan) in Paraguay, Ambassador Der-Li Liu.

As part of this occasion, the Asus Foundation and the National University of Asuncion signed a donation and cooperation project agreement.

The 21 notebooks donated will be a key resource for building up the digital classroom for training postgraduate students. It is designed to enhance their understanding of digital learning and to prepare them to apply a similar ICT methodology in their future teaching. The rector thanked both the ASUS Foundation and the Embassy for their generosity, and invited ASUSTek Computer Inc., a leading manufacturer of computer parts, to invest and set up a factory in Paraguay.

The Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan) and the National University of Asuncion have been working very closely over the years on various projects for the improvement of education in Paraguay, and it was very satisfying to see this digital classroom taking shape.
