Deputy Director Lin first introduced the current situation of the Ministry of Education, explaining government funding for education at all levels from 2002 to 2012. Finally, Deputy Director Lin introduced preschool education, national education, secondary education, higher education and international education for members who have been away from Taiwan for awhile to update them about Taiwan’s education advances.
Deputy Director Lin also explained that international education is a concern to professors teaching at different universities, especially since Taiwan has been recruiting outstanding international students in recent years. Each year, the Ministry of Education provides the Taiwan Scholarship to 260 students, including 19~20 students from Japan. In November 2011, The Center of Taiwan Education was established in Tokyo. This center provides full information about studying in Taiwan for Japanese students.
Regarding the Ministry of Education’s, Deputy Director Lin introduced a comprehensive overview of the 12 years compulsory education.
