2014 National Intercollegiate Athletic Games Torch Relay and Echinacea Campaign Press Conference at Taipei 101
The torch for the 2014 National Intercollegiate Athletic Games was passed around Taiwan during May 13-17. As the torch arrived in Taipei on May 15, a combined press conference for the torch relay and Echinacea campaign was held at Taipei 101 to focus on the theme of enjoying sports and staying away from drugs. The campaign advocates the spirit of understanding, friendship, solidarity, fair competition and promotes ideas of health, a drug-free lifestyle and love.

During the press conference, participants took a vow against using drugs, after which the torch was brought all the way to the 91st floor of Taipei 101, the highest building in Taiwan, to symbolize determination against drug abuse.

The National Intercollegiate Athletic Games is an important annual sport event in Taiwan. Around 12,000 players, judges and volunteers witnessed the torch reach the highest building in Taiwan, as the MOE encouraged the public to relieve stress through sports, but not drugs.
