Representing Taiwan, Lin Yu-Ting (林郁婷) was coached by Zeng Zi-Jiang (曾自強). Lin got all the way to the final match and then won it. Lin’s gold medal was not only Taiwan’s second gold medal in this competition, but also the first gold medal in Taiwanese women’s junior boxing history.

Lin Yu-Ting (林郁婷) currently studies in New Taipei Municipal Yingge Vocational High School (鶯歌高級工商職業學校). She has been boxing for 5 years. She uses Zeng’s combination of flexible and aggressive techniques, which have made her Taiwan’s first medal- winning contestant in the Junior /Youth Women’s World Boxing Championships.

The 2013 AIBA Junior/Youth Women's World Boxing Championships were held in Bulgaria. The Taiwanese team won gold medals in both the Junior Woman’s and Youth Woman’s championships.

This year, Taiwan has won 3 victories in international boxing competitions and its boxers have achieved two “firsts” for Taiwan. Ran Jun-Xian (冉俊賢) won Taiwan’s first bronze medal in the World Youth Boxing Championships, while Lin Yu-Ting (林郁婷) won the country’s first gold medal in the AIBA Women’s Youth World Boxing Championships.

These three medal-winners were identified and trained by the Sports Administration of the Ministry of Education as the potentially great boxers. Between them they have won a series of victories in world championships. This is a result of Taiwan’s training program for potential athletes promoted by the Sports Administration, Ministry of Education.
