The purpose of this competition is not only to encourage students to participate in projects, but also to establish research skills. Business people are invited to the event to see the works on display. So a platform, which realizes cooperation between schools and industries, is established for these young talents and their technical products. Students who are awarded a prize in this competition are no doubt more favorable in the job market or pursuing higher education.
In 2013, 132 works stood out from 1503 entries after intense preliminaries. These 132 works included 16 fields: Machinery and Motorized Machinery, Electrical Machinery, Information Engineering and Communication, Chemical Materials, Civil Engineering and Architecture, Commerce, Management, Domestic Economy, Catering and Foodservice, Nursing and Child Care and Education, Biotechnology and Medicine, Agriculture, Fashion, Industrial Design, Commercial Design, Interactive Multimedia Animation, and Publishing and Language Arts. And the final competition was carried out by exhibiting these excellent works.
People from industry, government, academic and research circles were welcome to attend the event. More than 100 teams showed their efforts, creations, practical skills, and marvelous esprit de corps through their projects. Students’ multidimensional capabilities, marketing, and presentation techniques coordinated with the educational goals of vocational and technological colleges and universities, and vocational skills demanded in the job market.
Furthermore, the MOE invited people from industrial circles to attend the event and set up a special area for intermediaries. It was hoped that students’ innovative products could be introduced to industry representatives and transformed into commercial products or techniques. Opportunities were provided for firms to discover creative works and talents. Through the intermediary platform, the MOE hoped teachers and students would make more connections with people in industry.
