In partnership with universities in Taiwan the Ministry of Education in Taiwan is offering Ministry of Education (MOE) APEC scholarship to students from APEC (Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation) member economies, including Australia. Ph.D. candidates and postdoctoral research fellows affiliated with an Australian higher education provider are welcome to apply.

The scholarships are designed to help increase the mobility of students in the Asia-Pacific region. The APEC goal is to have one million university-level student exchanges each year by 2020. Priority will be given to awarding scholarships to young people and women from developing APEC member economies who are undertaking research. Up to ten APEC scholarships will be awarded each year to researchers working at the forefront of their field.

Successful APEC scholarship applicants from APEC member economies will be given support to pursue research opportunities in partnership with an education or research institution in Taiwan for a period of from two to six months. A Ph.D. candidate will receive a monthly stipend of NTD 25,000, and a postdoctoral research fellow will receive a monthly stipend of NTD 40,000.

These APEC scholarships are just one of a range of scholarship and internship opportunities that Taiwan offers to overseas applicants as part of its vigorous engagement with the international higher education sector.
Among others are:
 Chinese Taipei APEC Higher Education Scholarship Program
 Chinese Taipei MOFA APEC Fellowships
