Education Division in Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Ho Chi Minh City held two Taiwan Education Seminars in Da Nang, Vietnam

The Education Division of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Ho Chi Minh City (TECO-HCM), Vietnam held two Taiwan Education Seminars to promote Taiwan’s education and various scholarships available. The first was at the Da Nang Center for Promotion of Human Resources Development (CPHUD) on December 11, 2015 and the second was held at the University of Foreign Language Studies at Danang University the next day, on December 12.

Over 200 students and civil servants from Da Nang participated. The focus of the seminars was to promote Taiwan’s educational policy, a range of scholarship programs – Taiwan Scholarships, Huayu Enrichment Scholarships, VEST 500, and MEKONG 1,000 – and TOCFL, the Test Of Chinese as a Foreign Language. The CPHUD also explained their scholarship program and encouraged the attendees to study in Taiwan.

Mr. Luong Minh Sin, former director general of Da Nang Foreign Affairs Department, Mr. Duong Vinh Phuc, an official from the Ministry of Office Security, and former scholarship recipients were invited to the seminars to talk about the “Taiwan Experience” to give the attendees a better perspective.

Both seminars were very successful. The attendees were very interested and asked many questions about Taiwan and about the application process for the various scholarships available.
