National Taiwan Normal University and the University of Münster in Germany sign MOU

Professor Chen Den-Wu, Dean of the College of Liberal Arts of National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU) and a number of NTNU directors and senior staff members visited the city of Münster (also written Muenster) in north-west Germany, for the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on January 16th 2017. The MOU was signed by Professor Chen and Prof. Dr. Tobias Leuker, Vice Dean of the Department of the Study of Language and Literature at the University of Muenster.
The goal of this MOU is to launch cooperation between the College of Liberal Arts of National Taiwan Normal University and the Department of the Study of Language and Literature at the University of Muenster, inter alia through co-operative academic research, teacher exchanges and student exchanges, holding joint academic conferences, and developing exchanges in the field of liberal arts.
Ms Weng Chin-Ying, the Director of the Education Division at the Taipei Representative Office in Germany was invited to attend the signing ceremony. She expressed her hopes that both parties will be able to organize student exchanges in the near future. After the ceremony, Ms Weng took this opportunity to give Prof. Dr. Emmerich details of all the Sinological education and research projects supported by the Ministry of Education of Taiwan. She also enjoyed a short tour of the Department of Sinology at the University of Münster.
