2017 Taiwan Education Fair for Malaysian Students in Rural Areas
This year’s fair was held in four cities: Serdang, Sepang, Rawang and Tanjung Sepat, all located in Klang Valley. A total of 26 public and private universities and colleges from Taiwan took part, and more than 2,000 students and their parents visited the fair to obtain the latest information about studying in Taiwan. Twelve of the participating universities offered scholarships to outstanding Malaysian students. The recipients will be chosen from among students who applied for admission to those universities during the fair.
Mr. Chu To-Ming, the Director of the Education Division at the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Malaysia spoke at the opening ceremony and encouraged all the students to take this opportunity to talk to and seek advice directly from the representative of each university they were interested in. He reminded them to ask questions and advised them to compare carefully before choosing a program and university, to find the one that would suit them best. He also encouraged students to apply for an MOE Taiwan Scholarship to study for a degree at a university in Taiwan, mentioning that the number of Taiwan Scholarships available for Malaysian students has been increased to 35 this year.
