April 23, 2013 was World Book Day. The Ministry of Education (MOE) held a press conference for “Reading in the morning 123, light up the world–Project for Promoting Reading in the Morning among High School Students.” In his speech, Minister of Education Chiang Wei-ling stated that 85% of junior high schools have joined this project since last January, and it is hoped that the goal of encouraging students to read in the morning three times a week will be met by the end of next year.
