Deputy Minister of Education Dr. Chen Liang-Gee speaking about the “Educational New Southbound Policy: People Oriented, Heart-to-heart Communication, and Resource Sharing".
At the invitation of the Asia Taiwan Chamber of Commerce, Dr. Chen Liang-Gee, Deputy Minister of Education in Taiwan, attended its 24th General Assembly and the 2nd Joint Meeting of the Supervisory Committee conference, on December 2nd and December 3rd, 2016 at Ho Chi Minh City to promote the government’s New Southbound Policy and associated programs for cultivating highly skilled professionals. Dr. Chen gave a speech at the conference on "Educational New Southbound Policy - People Oriented, Heart-to-heart Communication, and Resource Sharing " explaining the current education policy planning and the promotion that will be undertaken in Asia. He also thanked the Taiwanese businessmen in Vietnam and Asia for the support they have given to the Taipei School in Ho Chi Minh City.
During his short visit to Vietnam, as well as attending the conference held by the Asia Taiwan Chamber of Commerce, Dr. Chen attended a luncheon event hosted by the National University of Ho Chi Minh City to discuss the trip a university delegation had made to Taiwan and possibilities of further collaboration, and visited the Taipei School in Ho Chi Minh City, and the Southern office of the Ministry of Education and Training, Vietnam.
The Deputy Minister said that the Ministry of Education will increase the number of Taiwan Scholarships available to students in Vietnam and will also provide a more diversified range of exchanges with education institutions there. This will include establishing cooperative education courses and industrial training courses.
