Deputy Minister Lin Teng-Chiao Visits Ho Chi Minh City

Dr. Lin Teng-Chiao, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Education, Taiwan, led a delegation of officials from the Ministry of Education K-12 Administration, and senior high school students to visit Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam between July 16 and July 22, 2017.
The purpose of their visit was to allow the vocational high school students with Taiwan-Vietnam background to come to Vietnam to experience the Vietnamese culture and language and to gain some working experience in Taiwanese companies in Vietnam.
While in Ho Chi Minh City, the Deputy Minister visited Bac Lieu Province People’s Committee; Dong Thap Province People’s Committee; Dong Thap University; the Ministry of Education and Training, Southern Office; the Hue Phong Footwear Co., Ltd.; DDK Group; the Taipei School in Ho Chi Minh City; and Le Hong Phong Gifted High School.
He also attended two seminars: the first was the “Vietnam–Taiwan Industrial Cooperation Seminar”, held by the Education Division, Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Ho Chi Minh City, the General Directorate of Vocational Training of the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, and the Vocational Education Association of Ho Chi Minh City. The second seminar was the “New Southbound Policy and Industrial Cooperation Seminar” held by the Taiwanese Business Association, Vietnam, to discuss possibilities for future industrial cooperation.
On the last day of his visit Dr. Lin attended the Taiwan Scholarship and Huayu Enrichment Scholarship Award Ceremony and he personally presented the scholarship certificates to this year’s winners.
