TECO in Vietnam Awards 2019 Ministry of Education Taiwan Scholarships and Huayu Enrichment Scholarships
The Education Division of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Vietnam held a ceremony in Hanoi on August 6, to award the 2019 Ministry of Education Taiwan Scholarships and Huayu Enrichment Scholarships. There were 55 recipients this year, of whom 54 are from Northern Vietnam (Hue province and to its north). The other recipient is from Laos.
Richard R.C. Shih, the Representative at TECO in Vietnam spoke at the opening of the award ceremony and told the scholarship recipients that Taiwan has been evaluated as one of the countries in Asia offering the best education.
He also pointed out that the more than 60,000 Taiwanese entrepreneurs which are currently doing business in Vietnam have an urgent need for high quality personnel. He wished the recipients all the best for the future and he encouraged them to fully experience Taiwan's culture and cuisines, while they are acquiring professional knowledge and skills, and then eventually make their own contributions to cooperative relationships between Taiwan and Vietnam.
After the award ceremony, the Education Division presented practical information about topics such as the scholarship regulations, and the visa application and residency regulations, to help the scholarship recipients prepare before setting off to begin their studies in Taiwan.
