U-start Plan for Innovation and Entrepreneurship
The U-start Plan for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (“U-start Plan”) is the first campus entrepreneurship angel funds plan in Taiwan. It works in combination with the incubation and innovation resources of colleges and universities. As of now, this plan has assisted more than 1,000 youth entrepreneurial teams in realizing their dreams of starting businesses. The U-start Plan drive a variety of flourishing entrepreneurial motivations in campus.
To promote campus innovation and entrepreneurship culture and inspire students’ passion for creativity, and provide opportunities for them to realize their dreams and start their own businesses.
●Start-up teams must consist of at least three members, and at least two-thirds the members must be students graduating from colleges or universities in recent five years or current students (including undergraduates and post-graduates).
●Taiwanese citizens and foreign nationals holding a resident certificate aged between age18 to 35 are allowed to participate.
●Each individual may join one team only, and the teams should be connected to an incubating college or university.
●The U-start plan works in combination with incubation centers in colleges and universities to assist young people in starting businesses.
●Teams that pass the evaluation of the first stage of the Plan can receive US$11,000 in subsidies. Start-up teams will also receive guidance and assistance from the incubation unit for at least six months.
●During the second stage, teams passing the evaluation with distinction will be granted startup awards of US$8,000 to US$32,000.
●In addition, the plan also provides expert on-site visits, entrepreneurial clinics, and U-start Club network to help the team operate steadily.
