International Industrial Talents Education Special Program (INTENSE Program)

Purpose
The Ministry of Education (MOE) has launched the "International Industrial Talents Education Special Program (INTENSE Program)" for talents coming to Taiwan for study and employment after graduation.
Strategies
The program integrates resources from government, industry, and universities to expand the recruitment of international superior industrial talents students and cultivating high-quality professionals with international mobility.
- Characteristics of the INTENSE Program:
1. The INTENSE Program emphasizes on the needs of talents for domestic and international enterprises.
2. The government and enterprises will jointly allocate resources to cultivate talents and professionals in two years, and prepare for talents’ future employment by enterprises for two years.
3. Schools and enterprises can jointly plan their programs on student enrollment and internship courses during the study, and students will be able to join off-campus internships during (with pay) their study period.
4. Students who receive scholarships from government and enterprises are obligated to stay in Taiwan for work after graduation (in accordance with the scholarship duration).
5. Universities have opportunities to establish and strengthen international industry-academia cooperation.
- Focuses fields:
STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics), finance, and semiconductors.
- Funding:
The Taiwanese government covers tuition fees and other administrative costs for up to two years. Participating companies provide each student with a living allowance at least NTD10,000 per month and an internship allowance (above or equal minimum wage).
- Work in Taiwan:
After graduation, students must stay in Taiwan to work with participating companies, fulfilling work obligations based on the number of years for which they received funding. Upon completion of their obligations, students may choose to remain in Taiwan to work or return to their home countries to work.
- Eligible candidates:
International students who have completed their second or third year at an overseas university, or junior college graduates and bachelor’s degree holders.
