font-size:

Local governments may submit proposals for youth engagement mechanisms that are youth-centered, meet the needs of young people, and reflect local characteristics. Applications may include:

  1. Establishing local youth policy issue sounding boards.
  2. Enhancing the roles, capacities, and networking opportunities for youth counseling organizations.
  3. Developing youth talent in public affairs and instilling civic awareness in young people.
  4. Other creative models for youth participation in public affairs.

Goals

  1. In coordination with local governments, establish platforms to enhance youth issues and governance, provide channels for young people to participate in government policymaking and make their voices heard, and promote public policies that are more relevant to youth needs.
  2. Offer diverse opportunities for young people to take part in local affairs, stimulate interest in public affairs among youths, foster active participation and exchanges, and demonstrate the power of youth civic action.
  3. Improve young people’s knowledge about how to engage in public affairs, enhance their ability to understand public issues, and help them gain higher and deeper perspectives on public matters.
  4. Give youths and local government agencies opportunities to collaborate and add momentum to youth participation by encouraging engagement, experimentation, and exchanges between young people and government units.
