Ministry of Education Objectives for 2025(January-December)

- Enhance the number and capacity of public and quasi-public preschools, promote extended and temporary childcare services, provide children's education subsidies and childcare allowances, and gradually improve the ratio of teachers to children in preschools; provide advanced digital learning in primary and secondary schools, and train more skilled ICT professionals; and put in place more support and assistance for students in remote areas, disadvantaged students, and those with special educational needs.
- Optimize both hardware and software facilities in primary and secondary schools, and construct new buildings and/or expand buildings in primary and secondary schools in areas of emerging population growth; enhance food safety management and ensure consistent provision of quality school lunches; enhance mechanisms for schools to provide the three levels of guidance and counseling , strengthen campus security measures, and foster friendly school environments.
- Expand the Higher Education SPROUT Project , and invest in educational research personnel, and international exchanges; continue to promote research institutes in key national fields, and train high-level professionals; implement educational equity, and narrow the tuition gap between public and private universities; continue to set up regional bases to train skilled personnel for industry and provide technology training, to enhance the industry workforce; optimize technological and vocational education environments, and train skilled science and technology professionals.
- Promote bilingual education using the approach of “focused development” in conjunction with “general improvement” , together with reducing resource gaps between regions , improve the younger generation’s English communication skills, and nurture bilingual, highly-skilled professionals who are internationally competitive; promote the Bilingual 2030 policy, and create environments where English is also used . Continue to extensively promote and further develop Taiwan's high-quality Chinese language education, and export Taiwan's soft power globally.
- Publish a white paper on youth policy, establish a 10-billion NTD fund for young people to study and experience life overseas, and expand young people's participation in public affairs. Promote intergenerational learning between young and old people, and create a society that fully embraces lifelong learning. Implement education on human rights, gender equity , and multiculturalism, and create learning environments characterized by mutual respect, tolerance, and caring.
- Plan and establish a new ministry of sports; improve national sports training venues, train competitive athletes, and provide them with comprehensive support; accelerate the development of the sports industry, and vigorously encourage all citizens to do regular physical exercise.
